Song I wrote about my Mother in Law

In the shadows, she hides her lies,
A hypocrite with a charming guise,
Preaching virtues she can’t uphold,
Her true colors, dark and cold.

Affairs and secrets she conceals,
With multiple hearts, she unfeelingly deals,
To a hotel room, she takes her flight,
Leaving behind a trail of blight.

Oh, my mother-in-law, the hypocrite,
Her actions and words, they never quite fit,
She craves the spotlight, the social media queen,
Posting falsehoods, living in a dream.

She homeschooled my love, but oh, the deceit,
Withholding knowledge, keeping him incomplete,
In high school, he stumbled, awkward and weird,
No rides to activities, he persevered.

Blood for glasses, he paid the price,
While she hunted instead of being nice,
Every moment, a social media show,
Fake smiles hiding what we all know.

Oh, my mother-in-law, the hypocrite,
Her actions and words, they never quite fit,
She craves the spotlight, the social media queen,
Posting falsehoods, living in a dream.

Threats to take our home and our jobs,
The hurtful words that she sobs,
Talking down her daughter-in-law,
For not sharing her religious awe.

We left the state, cut ties away,
No more lies, no more games to play,
Evil and mean, a narcissistic queen,
Playing the victim, her constant theme.

His father hunts, ignoring his son,
No love, no care, the damage done,
10,000 steps to prove his mothers worth,
In reality, a soul lost in dearth.

Oh, my mother-in-law, the hypocrite,
Her actions and words, they never quite fit,
She craves the spotlight, the social media queen,
Posting falsehoods, living in a dream.

But we’ll rise above, we’ll find our peace,
In the truth and love that will never cease,
Her toxic ways, we’ll leave behind,
Moving forward, our hearts aligned.
